    The William F. Ryan Community Health Network is a group of not-for-profit, federally qualified health centers that delivers high quality, affordable and comprehensive medical care to diverse and underserved communities. We are currently seeking an Informatics Systems Developer to provide networkwide support. This position will be located at the offices of one of our community health centers on the Upper West Side.  


    Position Overview:

    Under the direction of the Director, Informatics and Innovation, the Informatics Systems Developer will design, develop and maintain Business Intelligence(BI) capabilities for the Ryan Network’s Clinical, Operational and Quality Improvement needs. Leveraging tools like Azure, Power BI, SharePoint and Cognos, the Informatics Systems Developer will provide data analytics solutions to facilitate end-user access and integrated information exchange. The Informatics Systems Developer will support risk-bearing activities, providing real-time clinical and operational data analytics feeds to assist management and staff in establishing benchmarks and understanding performance against quality and efficiency targets. Collaborate in the development of integrated information systems with other healthcare partners and external data systems to interpret data and apply it to the most important issues for the organization and health care leadership. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Network.  


    Essential Functions:  

    Support a comprehensive Business Intelligence (BI) platform by developing reports, dashboards, and KPIs from multiple database platforms using data analysis tools including but not limited to; Power BI, SQL, eBO (Cognos), BridgeIT (MS Access), Azure environment, CorePoint (HL7 engine) to track metrics and trends for the Ryan Networks Population Health, patient outcomes and operational requirements.

    • Organize complex clinical and administrative data from multiple source systems into synthesized results using data analysis, consolidation, extraction and programming methodologies, databases and business intelligence tools.
    • Prepare network-wide and departmental reports related to health quality improvement initiatives including HEDIS and disease management programs.
    • Develop, configure, publish and support the Ryan Network’s intranet “Netty” (SharePoint) for end users to self-manage and maintain ongoing.
    • Work closely with all appropriate departments and programs to create formal specifications for both internal and external reporting requirements.
    • Manage databases, support new business applications, and implement a technical quality assurance process that ensures all reporting is properly specified, documented, tested, implemented, and maintained.
    • Collaborate with Informatics team-members to improve existing informatics solutions and contribute to new developments as necessary.
    • Maintain knowledge and expertise in state-of-the-art business intelligence platforms and tools by analyzing functionality of external products and making recommendations to IT senior staff.  
    • Immediately report any unusual events or problems with program operations to the Director, Informatics and Innovation.
    • Attend all meetings and/or training sessions as required.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director, Informatics and Innovation and Chief Information Officer.



    Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

    • At least three years of experience and expertise in Informatics, i.e., SQL, Azure, and SharePoint.
    • Advanced level skills in data management, report development and Systems Development Lifecycle or Project Management.
    • Advanced level skills in spreadsheet and database applications including Access, Excel, and other database management and Business Intelligence software.
    • Understanding of linkages between data and knowledge and decision support to report outcomes and KPIs.
    • Ability to work independently on complex projects.
    • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills and multi-tasking capabilities required.


    Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:       

    B.S. degree.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Major in Computer Science or related field.
    • Experience with Power BI and electronic health record applications.
    • Experience with Health Plan data.
